trying to create unattended cd fails

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to follow your guide to creating an unattended CD but am totally stuck. I've downloaded XPSP2 network version and extracted its files. I already have all my win XP files in a folder called Win XP Home. Your instructions say "Start/Run this c:\XPSP2.exe -s:c:\name of xp dir files"

XPSP2.exe does not exist on my computer (I've used expanded search). I can't use nLite because that came up with a fatal error immediately. Perhaps these instructions only apply to XP Pro? or what am I doing wrong?

XPSP2.EXE is just the single exe you downloaded of the Full/Network install of Service Pack 2. Rename that file to XPSP2.EXE.

The guide applies to both Home and Pro, and I dont know why nLite dosent work, maybe the download was corrupted, or maybe its something else screwed in your PC, either way it dosent really matter, it seems many people have had problems with nLite, me included.

I strongly reccomend RVMIntegrator (http://ryanvm.msfn.org) and PowerPacker.

Are you using unattended.msfn.org? I didn't think it used nLite.

Good Luck
