im not sure if this is a bug or not well it seems like a bug to me,, when i tested this out to create a thunderbird install,, it removed my current installed version of thunderbird off my pc

is this normal ?
can you look into this further to test if you can replicate this error

I dont know what cause this but I have tested several times and it didnt removed my currrent thunderbird.If you get this error again,could you tell me when it happens ie unpacking,copying files,packing..Thanks.

sorry i havnt been able to reproduce this error no matter how i attempt it and ive tried 5 times now

if you want to keep your address book, copy the abook.mab and history.mab files from your Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles area and put them in your profile folder before you hit pack and that will add them

thanks i can get my adress book in to it but now it doesn't take my how do you call it ?
instals when it installs i don't see my acount's and local map's of the acount's ??

hmmm the only thing i say to try to do is carry the localstore.rdf and your mail folder to the profiles folder of your instillation before you pack then give it a shot,,

me i dont use multiple accounts in mine but i carry everything over like i just told you and my folder layout, account , addy book, mail .... everything is set up the way, so the only thing it asks me when i first turn it on, is for my password to my account so it can check my mail..

after created my silent thunderbird and install it, i lost my folders in thunderbird (inbox outbox...etc).
any help...???

Can you give me the details how it is happening at what stage(unpack,copy files,pack etc..).I cant reproduce that bug.

Also if you can spot the bug,could you try below version for that bug.Thanks

sorry mate....no luck.
the only error i have it at copy my settings and is about copying search plugins. then everything goes fine. after install get this:

SOF copies what it sees on the data.ini file.You have to tell him what to copy.I dont use Thunderbird,but I think there is folders for each account.You have to copy thay folders.

after manually copy the folder for each account everything went fine......
but if i install from svcpack i get that screen about copy the outlook settings.....

Hi there - just running some tests on V1 of SOF and have found that after installing FF on the new machine that the profile information etc is missing and no themes have been applied and no bookmarks. I have checked and the themes are installed as are the extensions... but they haven't been applied...

Suggestions please?

Similar problem here (FF 1.5.0.1). Nothing works except extensions. No bookmarks, no profile settings...

Sof copies files to your profile and main directory according to inifile.Check your ini file for what are you copying.Also at copy my files section check that copying is successful.After copying check again that it is your setting file.You should give me more details because I have tested several times and my files are copied and extensions are installed.

This looks like an interesting tool.

Since starting my uA project, I have always repackaged the Firefox and Thunderbird installers to silently install them. I have been able to successfully copy across all of my data (I don't currently use any themes or extensions) for Thunderbird, but have yet to find a working solution to copy anything in Firefox save my bookmarks. It's something of an annoyance, since with Firefox I do make use of a few extensions, and thus far I have had to reinstall and reconfigure them each time I run the uA installation.

I will test this out and see if it can't help resolve my frustrations.

For those who are having difficulty with Thunderbird data, I install mine using a seperate SFX archive of the %appdata%\Thunderbird folder that gets extracted after Thunderbird has installed. The practical upside to this is that I don't have to rebuild the installer every time I re-install Thunderbird, I can just update the data SFX.

Another strange thing is that I normally use SFX archive to extract flash plugin files into plugins dir, now when using sof, flash files are extracted but I can't view flash in browser.
Settings and bookmarks still don't work.
I don't know where I should look for my files after copying, there are no prefs.js bookmarks.html and mimeTypes.rdf inside .\Sof\Project\Firefox dir.

Did you try to manually copy your profile files to Project\Firefox\Profile directory?As I can see from the log your profile files isnt copied or copied to wrong place.
