Fernando 1
when intergrating serial ata raid drivers whether is b NF4 intel or w/e do i leave oem preinstall checked if i m not using the floppy method? thanks in advanceThe install should work with enabled and disabled OemPreinstall option. If you don't use F6 method, it might be better to disable OemPreinstall. tkmadison
STOP C000007B {BAD IMAGE} THE APP OR DLL \??\C:WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SFCFILES.DLL IS NOT A VALID WINDOWS IMAGE PLEACE CHECK THIS AGAINST YOUR INSTALLATION DISKETTE.This actually sounds like a bit of an nLite bug. I recall having similiar issues, and the way to solve it was to disable Windows file protection. You can do this in the 'patches' section of nLite, I believe it is?At least that's what this error message sounds like.
nuhi
Beppe, fixed in rc5, try it.
Beppe
the reason why i went to and earlier version of nlite was b/c of that lil bug that i was having when i got to the end of the install.. saying installation failed. this was with RC5.. so i went to last stable version.. guess gonna have to wait it out when nuhi releases the next version :Update::i always disable sfc all the time Edited January 27, 2006 by Beppe
nuhi
That installation failed bug is silly, don't worry about it, it's IE thing in the reg, fixed in next one.Best is RC5 for now.
Tito234
I have the same problem as Beppe in that I get the following error when booting my Sony Vaio laptop running XP.STOP C000007B {BAD IMAGE} THE APP OR DLL \??\C:WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SFCFILES.DLL IS NOT A VALID WINDOWS IMAGE PLEACE CHECK THIS AGAINST YOUR INSTALLATION DISKETTE.I wasn't installing anything, but my system has been very erratic lately, crashing at will and shutting down programs for no apparent reason. Ran Chkdsk dozens of times and it usually found some bad sectors that it seemed to fix. Right up until it would crash again, and find some more. Fortunately, due to this downward spiral, I was able to backup all key files from my hard drive. Then yesterday, my computer would not boot at all. I just get the above error and the infamous BSOD. Interestingly, it does run Chkdsk and find no problems. So do I have a bad hard drive, or just a corrupted Win XP? Is there a way I can salvage the system without a complete reinstall?I have done some investigation and have heard some that are able to bypass or replace the sfcfiles.dll. Any advice on how to do this when I can boot the drive would be appreciated. Thanks!Tito
