hi ive been using Internet Cyclone for a few years now and it does work great,, im curious if theres a way to decomplie it to see what registry settings it actually tweaks for each one of its different optimization settings

does any one know of a good way to actually test out what registry settings are changed during each one of its optimization settings ?

im trying to go this route because i want to try to take its settings that i use and go around using it, plus its a learning experience

heres a link for it

It will not make your 56k dial-up modem connection to 100k. If your Internet connection speed is a 56k dial-up modem , it will provides you to use it with the best performance. For example we were informed by other people that this Internet optimizer helped them to boost their high speed Internet connections up to 120kb/s (this means a boost of 400%). Microsoft publishes Windows operating systems with default settings (the most compatible settings with all systems). But you cannot get the best performance of your Internet connection with this default values. At that moment, you need Internet Cyclone to change this Windows Registry settings that affects Internet connection speed through a simple, intuitive interface, and by giving you the chance to speed internet connection.

In the UNREGISTERED version of Internet Cyclone there are disabled the extra settings in Windows registry such as: SlowNet Option, SACK Option, Max DupAcks, Large Window Scaling, Maxim Connection per Server, VCache value, Combuffer value, the speed of Com ports, Maximum Sockets Value and Maximum Connection Value which will improve even more your Internet connection speed.

btw i have a full version but feel freee to try a demo

thanks

I use Regsnap to monitor registry changes, and in my experience if the connection settings are being altered it is mainly settings here
CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
or the likes.

I suppose any reg monitoring software will do, but Regsnap also creates an undo and redo reg file which I can then compare with Beyond Compare and see the differences, and as the Internet Cyclone setup is an Inno you can decompile and add your own registry entries then compile and it should save you the messing about, but I haven't tested it.

thanks benners your always very helpful and informative ,

now ive already used the optimization mode on my current pc so it might be kinda pointless to try regsnap on the pc at this point, but i like that ideal

as for decompiling it with inno ,, isnt those particular registry settings, just mainly for installing the program, ?

well any ways ill try to deciple it, thanks for your advice,,

The registry settings in the setup are just the default settings for the program, not every Inno installer has them as some are created on the programs first run but you can add your user settings to the iss file, things like serial number, options to selects certain settings and disable others, window size and position etc.

You are right about monitoring the registry now as although certain settings will change new keys created upon first optimization might not so its best to do it on a virgin system.
