DVD to CDR

You will have to rip your DVD and encode it to DivX or XViD.

The best place to start would probably be to get yourself a copy of Gordian Knot (ppl say its the best package of multi-tools to make a DivX). And then follow the guides they have on there for using Gordian Knot and DivX Pro.

I have no knowledge for making XViDs however, its pretty much new, and its widely used in the *ahem*... movie warez scene.

Quite a complex procedure!!

I was thinking of something more simple wizard based. Ideally I would want to fit a dvd rip onto one cd in divx format..

well, depends of the length of the film, average 150min dvd would need 2 cds if i'm not mistaken

Yeah its complex, but you get brilliant quality out of using seperate tools which Gordian Knot controls.

There are some wizard based commercial apps that simplify the whole process, but they give out very bad quality video :)
