The problem is not with the addon but with HFSLIP. Anyway, try the latest test release and include the addon. I fixed the problem and it seems that the odyn1982_AudioUtilities_Addon_v1.0.cab addon is handled properly now.

Is that the WindowsUpdate.log file from an installation that asks you to install the Windows Update Agent?

Strange. It should normally display a list of the files involved including their version numbers. Are you using Windows Update or Microsoft Update?

Strange. I used HFSLIP _ 60420a.CMD and this file look differently. So as you wrote above.
I did not have any problems with the installation .

On first glance:
all ADDONS were installed, even Boooggy _ ASPI _ Addon.cab

I added 3 files:
1. WindowsUpdate1. log - after first logging in without starting WU
2. WindowsUpdate2.log - after first logging in and starting WU
3 WindowsUpdate3.log - next starting WU after the change LegitCheckControl.DLL

Windows Update is tripping over winhttp.dll. It is looking for it in the WINDOWS\system32 folder but it isn't there. Why?

Try putting your modified version of winhttp.dll into HFEXPERT\WIN\system32\ instead. Hopefully that helps. It needs to be version 5.1.2600.1366 or higher.

I put Winhttp.dll(ver. 5.1.2600.2180) from mine installed at present Windows to \HFEXPERT\WIN\system32
and all works correctly. I don't have problem with WU any more :-)

I added files:
1. WindowsUpdate1. log - after first logging in without starting WU
2. WindowsUpdate2.log - after first logging in and starting WU

If everything is working correctly you don't need to attach any files... :)

Is our final just about due yet? I'd like to see it by 6 pm EDT (I believe 11 PM your time) if possible as I'm going to be elsewhere after that.

Don't rush though :D

Fuss caused Winhttp.dll from WU (in the very old version) in HFSLIP\HFEXPERT\WIN . Will suffice him remove or put on the newer version . I apologize for fuss ;).

Do you plan to extend HFSLIP.LOG in the the closest time?

Hi, I've just made a new iso.
1- UPHClean is correctly installed with latest (beta) version.
2- it seems some hotfixes did not get installed.
I attached some debugging infos.
Quick summary: XP SP1a, french, patched using HFSlip
-hfnetchk -f output
-mbsa scan
-list of files in SOURCESS\I386 in dir.txt (because I use nLite so some files could have been removed)
-hfslip.log (all critical updates and nearly all optionnal updates for XP SP1a mentionned in Tomcat's list)
-nLite's lastsession.ini
-one of the "missing" update was not present in HF but others were present
-I removed three hotfixes that aren't needed anymore.

Thanks for your help.

I thank for music, I am not interested :)
I thought about addition of such information:
*the time of the work HFSLIP
*the capacity of the catalogue Sourcess and SOURCE ( how much the percentage increased or reduced the installation)
This are loose the proposal. It depends only from You It will be introduced(added)

Camarade_Tux:

Did you run Windows Update on the installed system? Please report which hotfixes WU says aren't installed. Also, can you try installing without running nLite?

dziubek:

With DOS, it is not possible to calculate the time it took for HFSLIP to run with DOS, nor is it possible to calculate the percentage of increase/decrease for two folders.

@Camarade_Tux

KB912812 and KB911567 did not install because you removed the word "Windows" from their name.

The problem with KB911562 is a strange one. MBSA says that the version of dbnetlib.dll is less than expected, but that file is not part of the KB911562 package at all! I think it has to do with the two updates above but I'm not sure.

Please use the new final, HFSLIP_60422.

Just an FYI...

There was a problem with the last two test releases. The fix to properly interpret lowercase CD tag files when checking for the SP level didn't work. It's corrected in the new final.

Does that answer your question, Super-Magician? :D

Thanks for letting me know, Tomcat, and thanks for my adding my name to the Thanks list!

JW, what did I do to deserve this recognition? :D

(minor edit, nothing added/deleted)

:blushing:
I´m sad about that what i have to do, but I must report that the newest testrelease has a syntax error in Mdac_type line. A fresh builded Install CD: at the point Registering the Components comes the infoscreen that there is a syntax error in mdac setup. After finishing the installation i found mdac not installed.
So i´ve had a look to the line in hf_60422d and found a "1" after the switch "QN" at the end of the line.
I removed it and at time i build a new install source. :)

Edit: It wasn´t the "1" alone. I´ve found a MS-Article explaining the Syntax for Mdac and Dasetup. I´l try this.

"dasetup" is what I had before but it didn't work. What you see now is what worked for me.

Edit: Here's an MS article explaining the meaning of QN1 (and QNT).

Wela... Change the install string in SVCPACK.INF to this (including all quotes):

"MDAC_TYP.EXE /q /C:""setup /QN1"""

Hopefully that helps...
