you mean the "kbdbhc.dll"?
let me double check that when i get home :) ... but during the install, HFSLIP looks for it in the root of D while it resides in the I386 dir ...
thanks for the quick reply!

Quite honestly... I'm not sure I understand what you mean. HFSLIP adds a line into TXTSETUP.SIF and DOSNET.INF to copy over verclsid.exe which is a new file. Secondly, support was added for the ASMS subfolder (which is needed for XPSP1). As far as I can see, both "fixes" are still needed for KB908531-v2...

Hehe, sorry

Here is exactly what I mean:

LATEST VERSION - HFSLIP_60422.CMD

Changelog for 60422:
- implemented the KB918165 fix for problems with KB908531

This lines can be removed from hfslip:
SET VAL918165={A4DF5659-0801-4A60-9607-1C48695EFDA9} {000214E6-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
IF NOT "%VERSION%"=="2000" SET VAL918165=%VAL918165% 0x401

Why?
KB908531-v2, update.inf (here for example the w2k version used)

I don't know where the reduction files are. Someone else that uses it should be able to help you.

Yes; the link to the newest version is always to be found in the main post of this thread.... :)

BTW... Some hotfixes have been re-released. I've updated my lists...

Hi, afaik no translation is needed. All those installers are in fact patchers. They don't overwrite windows files, they only change icons (in the same way ResHacker would do).

And no, nobody answered. I think it is not currently possible with HFSlip.
It should be pretty easy for the dev to make a patcher so I'm going to ask on bricomix.

But then I would have problems keeping my CD up-to-date.
Moreover, it would takes ages to find which files are needed.
Anyway, I've asked if it could be added.

They are not supported. I was also unable to find any command line information to install these packs.

further, 1 particular update KB888111 (High Def audio) doesn't seem to install if placed in the HF folder ... i found out about this while running the qfecheck tool ... it does though when placed in the HFSVCPAK dir as it install at T-13 ... just mentioning in passing ...
KB888111 isn't supported at the moment. I'll take a look at the files for 2K and XP tomorrow. If anyone can tell me what the name of the subdir is for 2K3 I can add support for it as well.

also, XPize does not silently install despite the xpize.txt in HFTOOLS dir ...
If SVCPACK.INF in SOURCESS\I386 contains at least "XPIZE.EXE /S", then it can only mean two things:
- there's a general problem with the XPize executable (which version are you using?)
- XPize cannot be installed at T-13

thanks Camarade Tux for the update ... i like the Super Tux! :)

hi TC ... it might be supported in 2K3 ... as for XPize, i'm using XPize 4.3 MCE ... i'll try to double check on SVCPACK.INF in SOURCESS\I386 if it contains the XPIZE.EXE /S ... what i do know is that i have the xpize.txt in the HFTOOLS dir that has the /S /notask switches ... i did put XPize43.exe in the HF dir & it did install at T-13 though I had to follow the prompts ... checked it when already in Windows & everything seemed patched correctly ... still using the same build now w/ no issue at all :)

btw, i've downloaded 60426b & i'll use it tonight as i wasn't able to make builds last night ... i got preoccupied watching UFC ;)

With 60427b, all critical and optional hotfixes listed on [your] update page for XP install correctly, including KB905474 (WGA Notifications) and UPHClean. Thanks, Tomcat! :)

Question - Can you put a link to KB905474 on your update page as it is listed on WU/MU as a critical update? And, is KB905474 only for XP? (The link the_guy gave on another topic was for the XP version)

If you have the time... Would you mind removing the following line from HFSLIP.CMD in SOURCESS\I386\SVCPACK and install again?
%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\wgatray.exe /b

I'm still not sure if it's required but I'm gonna keep it in for now. No rush... :)

It's not listed as an update on WU for Win2K so I guess it's only available for XP (for now)...
