It's been done! :D

Anyway, suggestion for you, Tomcat: rename the thread to HFSLIP test releases so at least people who've never encountered this forum know at a glance what the thread is for. However, I completely understand if you think that "Test releases" in this forum could only mean "test releases for HFSLIP."

Also, the main post still refers to "the new final released on August 4."

hi! been gone for quite a while ... anyways, i hope it is not yet late too report that 60819a support for 7z add-ons works fine ... i only encountered some Confirm File Replace prompts (for media files: qasf.dl_, wmadmod.dl_, wmsdmod.dl_, wmspdmod.dl_, wmvdmod.dl_) ... which i think has something to do with either the codecs or with the wmp11 addon ... aside from these, the rest is flawless ... show here though that 60901 is out :) thanks!

Am still using 60901a, as I do not have 7z addons at the moment, but I just want to mention that all the September updates HPSLIPped flawlessly. Windows Update has no complains whatsoever... :)

Coming up:
- [XP] improved slipstreaming of KB887472, KB896344, WMP10 and wmfdist95.exe
- [2K] improved slipstreaming of wmfdist.exe
- automatic support for new binaries/files in future hotfixes

This will take a few more days to complete. I'm very busy these days and I will also need to do some thorough testing with all OS's before releasing a test version.

Would you be able to add direct slipstreaming for WMP9 on 2000 SP4? I'm just curious. Is it possible, or is it EXTREMELY hard?

It's as easy as slipstreaming WMP10... :D

I don't have a machine handy with WMP9 installed so I need to know the location of these files:

wmburn.exe
dwintl.dll
wmerror.dll

These use C:, but the hard drive might be a different letter.
wmburn.exe-c:\program files\windows media player\roxio
dwintl.dll-c:\program files\windows media player\1033
wmerror.dll-c:\windows\system32

Thanks. I noticed today that dwintl.dll is already in the Win2K source so that makes it easier, hehe.

Today's release handles WMP9... :)

Gotta ask: If this release handles WMP9, does this mean that we can (finally ;)) include other wmp9 hotfixes (i've seen people include other wmp10 hotfixes)?

HFSLIP has supported WindowsMedia9-KB917734-x86-ENU.exe for Win2K for a long time.

Are there any others?

They are non-critical, but KB817855 (wmpns.dll 9.0.0.3002), KB884723 (wmspdmo(d/e).dll 9.0.0.3254), KB885641 (qasf.dll 9.0.0.3254), KB886610 (drmv2clt.dll 9.0.0.3259), KB887078 (wmvcore.dll 9.0.0.3259) and KB885353 (wmnetmgr.dll 9.0.0.3260).

There is also a long list of WMP10 fixes for XP, and a few hotfixes for WMP10 for 2003 SP1.

For those you'd need one of the experimental releases. The current stable doesn't automatically pick up new binaries from Type 1 hotfixes.

BTW... It just occured to me that you probably won't get a shortcut icon for WMP9...

@Tomcat: That's weird. What happens in XP and 2003 is that there's just 1 in the start menu for all users. Maybe do the same for 2000?

Also, what someone should do is (if it was supported by HFSLIP) make a list of WMP hotfixes (that aren't on WU).
