i have avoided nero 7 in favor of 6.6 cuz of 7's bloat but i think i will give this a try now thx much.

EDIT: quick question, if i use the /verysilent switch and use the reg keys to enter my serial number will i ever be prompted to enter the key again? and second do the shortkust install properly if done that way?

The Nero Installer for Demo and Retail packages is the same. You can use a valid key. Please apply regtweaks afterwards.
Standard a shortcut group 'Nero' is placed in Menu Start. When giving the parameter /TASKS="desktopicon" a shortcut to Nero Express is placed on Desktop.

If you don't want a shortcut group created you can use the switch /NOICONS

Thanks for your efforts. It would be even greater if the silent installer also contained:
Nero StartSmart
Nero Vision

Do you think you could consider building an installer with these:
Nero StartSmart
Nero Burning Rom
Nero Express
Nero CoverDesigner
Nero WaveEditor
Nero Toolkit
Nero Vision

I consider this project as done so far concerning Components. Nero StartSmart isn't that hard to implement, altough I don't think it's very useful compared to Nero Express.

Is there a switch to provide a Quick Launch shortcut (/TASKS=???), rather than the Desktop icon, thanks for all your fantastic efforts.

One can use SAVEINF to save unattended settings to file and later run the setup using LOADINF command also. Works great.

@hp38guser
Can there be an option using command -makeunattended, it is similar to the one found in quicktime alternative or real alternative!

I'm just wondering was the DVD decoder removed from this? I can't play DVD's now... back to Nero 6.6 for me I think.

This IS Nero Lite, meant as a burning program... not a program that makes your dvd's play.
kinda strange if dvdplayback would depend on the burning software..
the DSFilters have been removed since they are not neccessary and just steal associations from already installed filters/codecs.
there are lots of better dvddecoders (free) out there.

I know there are other decoders out there but then thats just one more thing I have to install. Also I really don't see much difference from nero 6.6 to 7 cept a flashier interface and nero 6.6 is smaller in size even compared to this lite version... So, I could either use this larger version with no extra, infact less cuz of no dvd playback, functionality, or just go back to 6.6. not to say that this isn't a good release, becuase it is, it's more Ahead's problem. I just don't understand why they don't release a lite burning only version on thier own that's around 15-20 MB's, I mean there has gotta be a market out there for it.

personally, I do not see the advantage of making an add-on and integrate with Nlite, it will still go through the install proces... so actually it makes no difference if you just install with RunOnceEx?
