Burning the Iso image to disc?

Just burn the .ISO using Nero. Making the .ISO bootable is something that nLite already made.

Yeah ... nLite is good! :)

Thats what i thought, but my first attempt was to use Nero burning Rom with the setting to burn a CDrom (boot) but that didnt work.

for simple

use nero burning rom instead nero express, once you get in close the wizard then select file -> burn image click ok and you are set

I just tried this method, with Nero burning Rom set to CDrom (iso) and it just burnt the iso onto the disc, but it wont boot from CD drive. I have already configured the bios to boot from CD first.

What else have i done wrong?

Do i just burn the iso image to the CD (using Nero 6) or do i have to nominate in Nero that i want to make a bootable CD and then point to the iso image?

Three incredibly difficult steps:

1. Open Nero

2. Open the bootable image.

3. Hit burn.

I'm glad you're still holding on to Nero 6. Nero 7 has nothing but problems and there are no major changes that make me want to switch.

use nero burning rom instead nero express

Exactly. I always see people running Nero Express. Well WTF is that?! No one actually uses that. The imaginary number of people that claim Nero sucks are either using Express or they're using Nero 7.

nLite

OMGWTFBBQ! :realmad:

Are you trying to make a CD directory bootable?

Open Nero Burning ROM. Select Bootable CD/DVD.

Select the boot image related to your disc(In my case I make Windows CDs so I use Microsoft Corporation or Arnes Boot Record).

No Emulation

Sector Load: 4.

Build your disc.

Hit burn.

Done.

just like Daemonforce have said before many people said nero was suck cause it nero express can't do a bootable cd, i only use nero express for an EXPRESS jobs like burning image or data to cd or making simple mp3/audio cd but for bootable disk i prefer nero burning rom,

as it simple :

1.open nero BURNING ROM

2.CLOSE the wizard (click CLOSE WIZARD button)

3.in NEW COMPILATION dialog click CANCEL button

3.select FILE -> BURN IMAGE

4.select the image you want to burn and in WRITE CD dialog click WRITE

simple isn't?

PS : all the important step are in CAPS

ok2, dont foolish yourself,read this articles :

http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/8/

http://msfn.org/articles.php?action=show&showarticle=162 (nlite iso, easy method to burn)

http://msfn.org/articles.php?action=show&showarticle=22 (allmost hard)

and some quotes from the webpage (link no 2) :

You should now have a single ISO file sitting on your Hard Disk; it's an image dump of a CD which you can burn to CD using a capable burning application that supports ISO files. For Nero, you would go to File > Burn Image > select your ISO file, and start burning. It's as simple as that!

If you have issues such as file copy errors or a non-bootable disc, try burning at a lower speed (16x) and selecting Disc-at-Once if possible rather than Track-at-Once. If you need help, please ask in the Windows XP forum, NOT the nLite forum.

A fast and simple free program that I found for burning images is ImgBurn. I highly recommend trying it out:

2. Open the bootable image.

Yes this also works! Thanks

For the record, i never use Nero Express!

And choosing 'CD Rom (boot)' was just a logical step that didnt suite this occasion.

Never the less, the disc boots now and installed ok, but stability is my current issue. See this thread!
