when i download messenger 6.0 something pops up saying: " MSN Messenger setup has failed with error code: '1601'. Please go to the MSN Messenger Web site and download the software from there."
What does that mean???/
What do i do now???/
how can i get messenger 6?????
yap! i downloaded for xp...

Try installing the windows installer 2.0...

Are you sure you're downloading for the right OS? I downlaoded for XP by accident instead of ME and I got that error...

True, True, you should check the version of the messenger you are downloading......

i solved my own problem =P
To fix the 1601 error do this:
1. Click START, and then click RUN.
2. In the OPEN box, Type msiexec /unreg, and then click OK
3. When this process is complete, click START, and then click RUN.
4. In the OPEN box, type msiexec /regserver, and then click OK.
5. Now install MSN 6.
