i have never heard of email id? where did u get that name from?

I always use Email Address.
I know who says ID, it is Yahoo. They call it Yahoo ID though.

IDs sound more appropriate with UserNames at different forums etc..

If an email address is used as a login ID, in that context it might be called "email ID" -- as playsafe and T D observed.
