Not sure if this is in the right place but I'm wondering if the athlon 64 driver thats on amd's site and abit's site is really needed at all? I installed it long time ago but it seemed to make my pc sluggish and run slow and a friend of mine said that the cool'n'quiet option in the bios wouldnt mean anything unless I installed the driver is xp, so is this true or what? Should i add this to my nlite cd and use it from now on to make sure the cool'n'quiet works right or just go without it?

Ripken, our computer hardware genius here, claims that the driver is absolutely necessary and that without it, most of his single-core games crash.

Would it hurt to add it? I don't think so. Just add it and you can be sure you're safe

Added it in and did a fresh install. Looked in system properties now my cpu reads at 992mhz. Everything like firefox takes a bit to load now. Is this normal? I'm starting to wonder why this driver even exists.
