You need to replace all 5 icon groups in sndvol32.exe with the ones you want.
Example:
I "borrowed" the icon groups from WinXP sndvol32.exe and put them into WinME sndvol32.exe, which I'm using in Win98 SE.
I use Resource Hacker [freeware]:
http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/

BTW:
98SE2ME:
http://www.msfn.org/...showtopic=46349
also replaces 98SE sndvol32.exe with the 1 from WinME setup CD.

Hope this helps.

I don't use systray.exe to load sndvol32.exe or anything else for that matter.
I use TrayIcon [3rd party freeware tool]:
http://www.infobro.c...es/trayicon.zip
which can create direct shortcuts to anything on your hard drives.
So I made a shortcut to sndvol32.exe.
That's why I replaced the ugly sndvol32 icons with the XP ones.

HTH
