Update for Windows XP (KB930916) (Validation Required)

This is a reliability update. Install this update to resolve an issue where a third-party driver installed on a computer that is running Windows XP may prevent you from opening files successfully on a NTFS file system volume.

A day later, and still no KB Article.

Update-wise, there are no differences. The same updates exist for XP SP2 and XP SP2 "corporate." The so-called "corporate" edition is simply volume license; however, keep in mind of course that the media (source) for both editions is different.

KB931768 replaces KB928090. Same for Win2K Pro.

These are the only 2 May updates for XP (and 2K Pro).

I will also be adding the DNS fix for 2000, with a note that it's server-only.

This worked for me:
c:\windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.exe /S:C:\xpdist

XPDIST is the folder with i386 and marker files. Works fine.

I gess if manual integration is possible HFSLIP will integrated it just fine. At least you may rename SP3 file with SP2 name and it should work too ;)

As for post-SP3 updates, read here.

Fixed! Also fixed the coloration issue. I guess those end tags are important.

a little upgrade of the list?

I was using this list to compile a iso to install a windows on my machine.
after the installation, I did a windows update.
It asked me to update the following:

892130
936181
933579
938828
937143
927891
931836
924496

and I found it is not included on this list, and these updates are high priority from the Microsoft update site. Do u think this list need to do a little upgrade?
I have attached a list of HF I used to build that windows.

Cheers

Attached File(s)
