EJAM
I am trying to connect to my XP machine from my Win 98 machine over my LAN but the only problem that I can tell is that remote desktop can't see my '98 machine when I try to set up users for remote desktop. The LAN works fine remote desktop doesn't......If someone could find me a clue about this it would be greatly appretiated......... Thanks!

Guest LouCypher
You [b:b33a6cc00e]don't[/b:b33a6cc00e] add users from the remote machine. You ONLY logon with users on the machine you're trying to connect w/ Remote Desktop to.By default, Administrator is the only account on the XP machine that can logon remotely. If you add other users on the machine to the configuration to allow logon via Remote Desktop then they can do it to. You're [b:b33a6cc00e]not[/b:b33a6cc00e] going to add users from another machine.Just connect to the XP machine w/ Remote Desktop and logon as Administrator (on the XP machine). I cannot see anyother computers to log onto to regardless of my user name....... How do I see other computers in my network to log on to?I can see my netwrk, just no other computers... Even with another XP machine...I don't know if it makes any difference but remote assistant works great....Appreciate the suggestions but still stuck :-(
