Installed (System) Files Checker.hta

68 posts in this topic

Minor, silent update:

ifc_config12.hta mistakingly creates a reg key called:

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ProramFilesDir"

(you can delete this key if you want)

The reaL key is ProgramFilesDir of course!

Sorry for this error.

Could you open checksystem45_html.vbs in a program or text editor?

Line 37, find the line starting with Dim .

Add ,ParentDir at the end of the line.

Please tell me if it works.

This is because it met a folder with irregular characters (russians?) and perhaps more than 2 irregular characters.

A case that I never faced. That's why I never had this error.

Edit: The file has been modified (but not tested).

You can redownload the same zip file from the same location and try.

I will be able to test it in about a week. Currently I don't have access to my Win98 PC.

No problem. :sneaky:

I will be myself extremely busy and FFMC (far from my computer) in the next weeks.

I hope this bug doesn't happen to too many and that the recent fix works.

New version! Yes, I'm still working on this project bringing improvement everytime!

4.8

-Fixed unability to check files when the DOS version is changed (w98) and the DIR command gives a different output.

(A rare occurence but it happens more often than I thought.)

-Improved: lower risk of false modified or missing/added couples in normal times thanks to the fix above.

-Added buttons "See Archives" and "Setings"
