I have bought Sharkoon Media Reader 2 ... and using Win98SE.
They say in the manaula that it is "Plug-and Pray" with all from ME up without extras.

My problem is that Win98SE does not install the drivers,
though I tryed to use the downloaded and unzipped file
of MediaReader2_driver.zip (from www.sharkoon.com)
sure unpacked the zip and run the setup, and after reboot the win98se, just tells
that it found a new device, but no of my tryes did function,
it just tells that it cannot find a a proper driver for the device.

In the *.inf files are mentioned ICSI .. and it should make an folio
named c:\program files\ICSI\ etc. but it does not make it after installation.
And some register notise should find a file named YourApp.exe in that folio.
The installer has noticed that i will use about 2.09 Mb of HD-memory on C:
But apparently not making those folders .. some of the *.inf & *.dll files are
installed in the system ... but the rest is not , so i guess that the setup version
Multi-Card Reader & Flash Disk (2.02.0930) is not Functioning proper.

Q1: Is this Media Reader compable to fix a driver in Win98SE ?
Q2: How can i get it work ?
Q3: Is there any other delieverers that uses the same drivers , that I can use ?
Q3: Can You please send a ZIP-file and instructions maybe how to get it working ?

http://www.sharkoon.com/all_eng.htm --- > downloads -- > Media reader 2 (zipped)
Something is missing either here or on that unzipped file .. so i would work on Win98SE.

Can someone help me ... Usually one gets no answere from the manufactors, as u know.
I am an engineer .. in electronics .. but no novice on computers, ..

try the the universal usb storage driver, http://www.msfn.org/...showtopic=43605

make sure the device is unpluged, install the driver, restart, plug it in.
