Hey there,

Well, I got my network working, got 2 computers hookup up through a Linksys router. My IP doesn't give a static IP, so it changes. I tried to rip a CD using Exact Audio Copy with lame but its unable to look up the track info for me on CDDB, so thats a real pain. I think the router is blocking some ports, and I'm not sure what to do to fix it. Please help if you can!

Ok so you have your router issuing DHCP addresses, cool. You may want to give this machine a Static IP address and configure the ports it uses to get out manually on the Router. I have the same setup on my network but have not encountered the same issue you are with the Outgoing Net traffic in that regard. You may try another method.. again issue one of the machines a static IP, Drop that IP /Machine into the DMZ on your router. Ensure you have a personal firewall installed and configured properly and give that method a go. Granted the latter is a last resort option, but it will work without fail.

Try this url: http://www.preinheimer.com/metamachine/www...ll-linksys.html

Cheers and Good Hunting!!
