Trying to reinstall VS2005 on 5456, and get a "Windows XP SP2 not installed" error box.. anyone else see this?

you try it with XP sp2 compat mode yet?

Yep.. no go.. worked fine on 5384, out of the box.. no compat mode needed.. but won't install on 5456 at all.

So.. just reinstalled Vista, Installed VS first thing.. works fine... chalk this one up to who knows what..

I use VS 2005 Prof under Vista 5456.5 and it works ;)
