What is the max filename length in the SVCPACK folder?

Does it make any difference if the file name is:

EAC0.95
EAC
ExactAudioCopy0.95
ExactAudioCopy

Are there any disadvantages/restrictions using a long file names in this case?

But on the unattended guide, when installing updates, it sez to rename WindowsXP-KBxxxxxxxx-ENU.exe to KBxxxxxxxx.exe. This hints not too long filenames? Who knows, but I haven't been able to go over 10 characters.
