I'm trying to remove anoying cloud messages in system tray like "MSN Messenger is still running" or "Disk space ..."

I've seen that hack somwhere long time ago, but cannot find it anymore. :)

You simply wish to disable the balloon tooltips, or?

Recommended: Download Tweak UI for Windows XP. After installing, simply highlight "Taskbar and Start Menu", then in the right pane, uncheck "Enable balloon tips".

Optional: You can also download XP AntiSpy which has the option to allow you to enable/disable them.

Registry method:
To turn off balloon tips in applications that support XP Themes:
  • Start > Run > regedit
  • Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\
  • Create a DWORD value of EnableBalloonTips
  • Give it a value of 0

It's in nLite as well in tweaks in case you're planning on beginning a new build.
