WPI AutoRun not working

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Has anyone come accross this before?

I can't get my DVD to autorun WPI no more.

I get an error stating:

"D:\ is not avalid Win32 application."

I have a Autorun.inf in the root of my DVD.

Inside the autorun.inf, I have the following:

[AutoRun]

open=$oem$\wpi\wpi.hta

icon=$oem$\wpi\wpi.ico

both the above files are located in D:\$OEM$\WPI\

Autorun was working before I upgraded to WPI 5.0.1 from WPI Lite 1.2. I have tried downloading the autorun.inf from tools section and still no joy.

Any ideas?

:huh:

"D:\ is not avalid Win32 application."

I'm getting that too. I'm installing WPI from CD seperate from my Windows install CD.

autorun.inf is in my root.

[AutoRun]open=d:\wpi\WPI.hta

icon=WPI.ico

I've tried moving the wpi.hta to the root folder of the CD and still produce the same error.

Today I finally stopped using WPI version 4.3.5 and downloaded 5.3. This was my main problem after I got the paths correct with the new version.

any ideas on this one?

Download the tools archive and use the updated autorun.inf.

Or simply replace "OPEN" with "SHELLEXECUTE".

But how about searching next time?

You don't have to be rude with your responce with the typical "search next time" responce. How the heck do you think I found this thread in the first place? I SEARCHED FOR IT. It should have been a clue since I posted in this thread, instead of starting a new thread.

You see, when I read Kev's post about the updated 'tools' I thought I knew where to look. I went to my newly downloaded 5.3.zip file and looked in the 'tool folder'. I saw nothing in there about autorun.ini

I get it now, I see my error. I should have been looking on the website for the tools folder and dowload it from there. It took me a while to find the tools archive link because I was looking under downloads [which downloads the program again].

I'm downloading the tools file and I'll get my CD to autorun, thanks for you help.

Sorry, I didn't want to be rude ...

But I know that a thread was started for this issue. Here is the link.

I know that because I posted the solution ...

You know, people oftenly say "It's not working" without searching.

Again, I appologise for my unpolite response.
