hi all

i seek ur guidance!plz help!

i hav 2 harddisk.i installed windows on 80gb sata & redhat linux 9 on 20gbpata .
*note that redhat linux 9 doesnt recognize/detect sata.
so in oreder to dual boot i had to change bios settings everytime. i needed to select sata when i wanted to run windows and pata as my boot drive when i wanted to run linux.
afterthat ,i used bootmagic to configure my system to dual boot both , but i was unsucessful .* i think* this is what caused the following problem!.

The windows refused to boot!
i booted using a bootdisk , DOS just wont recognize the partition on which windows was installed!
when i tried to use RECOVERY CONSOLE on my winXP installationCD(i thought fixmbr will solve it), i recieved a message saying that windows has

i wrote
fixmbr \device\harddisk1
: caution windows has found an invalid or non-standard partition table signature
If you use this command, you may
do u want to continue [y/n]

i was scared so said no.i also cudnt reinstall winXP on that driveas it said its a different os(yet FAT32 partition) asking me to format it!

i hav important data on this drive. i removed linux from pata and installed windowsXP thinking that then i can access it from there but in vain
following is an image attached kindly have a view!

what is the solution!
shud i retry fixmbr ? will it create : inaccessible partitions : imean will i lose data on other drives of sata as well? help!!!!!!!! :} :} :}
