@nutral

thanks for response

just 1 file with all the installs in them

Only one Offline File, would be TOO big, people dont need all the applications at once.
But I am planning to make offline packages for each application. this could be generated by adding a certain switch and the application name. i think this is more usefull.
I will tell you when it is done.

Be careful with offering offline packages as many companies require that the downloaded file originate from their servers. The current setup of TGUP does this perfectly but changing to an offline version might raise some unwanted eyebrows. This happened over at RyanVM with a utilities suite. The solution was to have the offline version create itself on the users computer as your application switch idea implies.

alright, thanks for the notice.
actually i was planning to make the offline packages generate themselves on the users computer.
i already started developing the scripts for this feature. it is one of the best features i think.
anyhow.. i hope by the end of this month, it will be available for use.

New Beta Function released! Please test
(thanks to CMan)

Now you can generate silent installers of applications online.
The generated silent installers can be installed without need of Internet connection.

When you use the switch for generating offline installers, TGUP does the following:

1. Application gets downloaded
2. Installing script gets generated
3. Both Files are then compressed in self-extracting archive.
4. By running the archive, the application begins installing immediatly and silently.

To use this function apply this switch when you run TGUP:

/oi:"path for destination folder"

eg.

tgup0017.exe /oi:"C:\Downloads"

This is still a beta release of the function. Silent Setup for Plug-Ins and Extensions is not yet Supported.
Please give me Feedback!

Hello,

I need some help from the experts.

I want to add a new feature to TGUP, which compares the Versions of installed Applications with the current ones,
so the user can be notified about updates.

My problem is, how can i know what is the version of each installed application on the users computer??!

As far as i know there isn't any standard path in registry, where all applications, leave their version number.

Thanks
Islam Adel

I wonder why this project doesn't get more attention. It seems perfect for the MSFN community.

New Feature released!

- TGUP is now able to compare the versions of installed applications on your pc with the current ones.
- You can also select the Language of Applications you want to install (if they are available in other languages)
Currently these languages are supported: English, German, French and Italian.

Have fun with it...

Please Feedback! :hello:

I don't know, I think a lot of us like to do stuff ourselves. I don't see myself learning something or having fun or breaking a sweat if all I have to do is download a program and run it. It's a great idea, and it will work, but doubt it'd work here.

Sorry, but pinning generally works the opposite way. It serves to make a popular/important thread more easily accessible as opposed to boosting the popularity of a thread.

Maybe this will pick up steam with some more time.

Yes, this tool integrates creating an installation directory with all your desired applications in, from where you can then install without having an internet connection. These installers are (then) unattended! Of course you need to be online to create that dir.

theoretically yes - i've tried with the
/oi:"C:\Downloads"

switch and downloaded all required files from the web.

as soon as i disable the networkconnection and rerun the program i receive an error "no network connection"

for my understanding the program reads the wihu default "install.ini and creates the selection menue.
where is the default install.ini - also if i extract the files and start over with wih.cmd there is no parameter switch inside the file...

yours

I you use TGUP with "/oi" it prepares unattended offline installers for each application!

As the project author wrote in his thread @german-nlite.de what this folder structure contains is usable via GuiRunOnce!

The generated Silent Installers can't be installed using TGUP.
You can run them either manually or using a simple Batch File.

@echo off
App1.exe
App2.exe

If you want this Batch File to be automatically generated, then I will consider this as a Feature request.
