Installing office xp on xp home. error message that "outlook unable to open default email folders. Could not open the item."
Outlook then offers to open the default systems folder instead. all of the other programs, Excel, Word,etc seem to work normally.
how do i solve this problem

Yes, Office XP and OL 2002 will run in Windows XP Home Edition as well as in Professional.
Run the Mail icon in Control Panel, then click on the Data Files button, do you see a file called Outlook.pst as the default Personal Folders?
