It's an ad. We don't control what goes into them. Google does.

unfortuneatly, some of us cant spend money online. myself and my parents dont like to do it for fear of other people getting the information. <_<

i would gladly donate to MSFN, but i cant. maybe when i get older and out on my own perhaps i will do it.

I used to use ad blockers (either an extension in Firefox, options in Maxthon, or AdMuncher) while surfing the web, but then I started up my own site and wanted to support it and keep it all running for itself. I started to see the discrepancies between what my site stats counter had been telling me, and what Google Ads had been telling me about my site traffic. It's kinda harsh when about 30% of your viewers aren't supporting your site by removing the ads. Mind you, my site only costs me $8/month, but it's far, far, FAR more expensive to keep MSFN running.

AdMuncher gives statistics on how much bandwidth you've saved... a whole 30MB in 2 months. Out of how much BW used on the web? 1GB, 2GB? MSFN doesn't use flashy "click the red spider" type of ads, so what's the problem with having a small unobtrusive box at the top and bottom of the page? It helps keep MSFN going folks. If you don't want this site to disappear, please don't use ad blockers.

@Cygnus - Donating online is more secure now than it has been. There are encryption protocols in place left, right, and center, and if you pay using a decent credit card, the company can reverse pretty much any charges that you didn't authorize. (Note - I said with a decent credit card - Visa, MC, AmEx, etc)

parents <_< my parents and i dont beleive in credit cards. just a way for people to get money off of us. we already pay way too much for everything. 45 bucks a month for lite internet, 40 for cable tv with nothing on (aparently we need cable tv to have internet) and 40 a month for phone where advertising companies bug us none stop.

in my opinion, and my parents, if you have a debit card, its just as good as a credit card. why do we need to have a credit card? debit is better than cash, its a card, direct to your bank, you dont pay much for transactions.

id rather not take any chances and be safe -_-

if a msfn user lived close to me whom i could trust and they had an account to donate to msfn, i would give them the money. its not the money thats the issue, its the whole privacy/trust/way of getting it to you thing.

msfn is a great site, dont get me wrong, i just dont have a safe way of getting the money in. im sorry im not up to date with everything

Don't over-do it either. If Google sees too many clicks coming from the same IP address, they will close MSFN's account.
