cyberloner Posted August 6, 2006 Share Posted August 6, 2006 (edited) by using 32 bit display color mode.... i success change the icons to looks more better with a lot of nie icons i can find on net...but after switch back to 16 bit color ... i can see the icons will corrupted and some have white circle around them...by using register such as Shell Icon BPP to 24 doesn't work anymore...does it mean we cannot use high color icons on 16 bit color system?i am using the 7zip icon patch too and the icons of it also same problem... vlasta Posted October 7, 2006 Share Posted October 7, 2006 Icons contain multiple formats and Windows load the closest bit depth - that is 8bb icon image in cas of 16bpp desktop. The 8bpp icons of course do not support alpha channel, so they are not as good. But htey can be optimized. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
