Hello?

I am experiencing some problems in
using ActiveSync (4.1.0) with Soyo's
media card reader/writer.

Basically, I find myself going through
unplugging and replugging of pocketPC
nemerous times in order for the Sync
to recognize the PPC through the USB
ports on the card reader/writer.

Also, I am (almost always) creating
some new partnerships in the Sync
in order for the synchronization to work
between the two.

I don't know if this is an issue with
the ActiveSync or with the poor card
reader/writer.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Thanks.

The problem is very definitely with your card reader /writer. What I am wondering about is why are you connecting your PPC to the usb port on theis reader inplace of the PC itself? For the card reader to have a downstream usb port it has to have usb hub chip. On cheap cards they use dicey chipsets which can give you problems. Secondly the drive power required may not be available through this downstream port.

If you need to frequently plug/unplug the PPC cradle/cable you might as well get an A male to A female extension cable, about a couple of feet long to bring up the connection up front.

I have been handling PPC with USB interface for more than 5 years. This kind of problems have arose on non powered hubs & extra long cables. Never when directly coinnected to the PC. It has never been ActiveSynch.
