Gmail via Outlook - unable to send I receive Gmail email via Outlook, but cannot send Rate Topic:

After following all the instructions for configuring both the Outlook and my Gmail account, according to http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer....&topic=1555 I still get an error when pressing "Test Account Settings..." : the first 4 checks succeed, but the 5th - "Send test email message" - gives the following error message: "Unable to send test email Message. Please verify the E-mail Address field."
In this situation, I receive Gmail email via Outlook, but cannot send (the email I compose and send, remains in the outbox).
I tried changing the SMTP port to some 587 (instead of 465), like was advised here in another thread, but to no avail.
Anyone have any idea what is the problem?
