XP itself? 66.7Mb here, measured with no other programs running. (Total - Available physical memory)

Little over 200 here, this is currently with 4 active applications (Opera, Trillian, ZoneAlarm and Zoom Player <playing a 200 meg media file.) and several background apps running, i think approx 14 or so apps.

300-400MB here. it mostly uses closer to 300MB though. if i have no open programs(well the non-important ones), it gets down to about 100-200(closer to 200)

Well... how are people measuring this RAM "usage"? You guys also forget that if you've got a pagefile, then inactive RAM will be swapped to the disk.

meh. the RAM that's showed on the Task Manager tab is nothing. a lot of programs can use up a LOT of virtual memory. Process Explorer shows Opera using at least 100MB memory ;).

edit: here's an ss of that i mean

Mangix- my opera virtual size in that program is 390mb... but in the normal task manager the virtual size it 90mb which seams more reasonable. something's lying to me here.

A little over 400MB, 440MB to be clearer.

When I used Vista, it used about 900MB, which was insane.

when my computer is just starting, and no programs have loaded, my computer runs an amazing 77.5MB.

once its finished loading after boot, no additional programs, its as low as 130MB. once i'm running Winamp, Trillian Pro, Opera with maybe 4 tabs max, i'm up to about 380...which is a little over 40% of my memory, but i'm trying to get more...i don't really need it, but it will help a lot
