hi! i was wondering if there could be a way to permanently disallow Windows Udpate to automatically download hotfixes (which in previous experience had caused my system to hang & slow-down :( here in the office my colleagues dread it when updates are being applied automatically as it holds off their work & system just reboots to apply the fixes ... blah .. blah ... blah ...) to my system? i know we could simply turn it off but would it not be better to have it tested 1st before applying it to any system? this may not be directly HFSLIP related but would it be possible through HFSLIP via HFTOOLS or FIX (just like shutting off WGA)? any advise would be greatly appreciated. :)

There is an entry in WINNT.SIF that turns Automatic Updates off, but I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for.

[Data]
AutomaticUpdates=0

There really isn't a difference, but for some reason I think AutomaticUpdates=0 would work better.
