Where do I put my new LegitCheckControl.dll ?
FIX\
HFEXPERT\APPREPLACEMENT\
HFEXPERT\WIN\SYSTEM32\
another place ?

But I used method #4 before asking and this doesn't work. My LCC.dll in system32 is the file from .cab not from APPREPLACEMENT

I have MODIFYPE.exe in HFTOOLS.
I don't slipstream WindowsXP-KB905474

Make sure you spell APPREPLACEMENT correctly (two P's followed by an R)...

just some additional info from http://hfslip.org/changelog.html under General Updates:

& under Special Features:

When you include this, you don't need to place hotfixes in HF that are already implemented in the Update Pack unless they are renewed. When you include LegitCheckControl.cab or a hotfix that contains LegitCheckControl.dll, HFSLIP will exclude the version that's in the RVM Pack.

I renamed HFEXPERT\APPREPLACEMENT\LegitCheckControl.dll to HFEXPERT\APPREPLACEMENT\LCC.dll and it works.
