Hi
I'm having some issues after shaving Win XP SP2 with nLite.
Everything works pretty good and fast, but I can't set my internet connection mannually.
I go to the "New connection wizzard" (sorry if names don't match, I use a localized XP version [Spanish]), then to "Connect to Internet", then to "Establish connection mannually", and then there are three options, but the first two are grayed out (unselectable), they are the modem/ISDN connection and the PPPoE (wich I use [throug a router, so I do have inet, but can't test without the router]), only selectable is Broad Band "always on" connection...
I've tested many things, leaving many stuff and services untouched, but no matter, always get the same 2 grayed options...
I know it must be some service or component, but I really don't know wich one is...
If someone knows how to recover thet part (the only missing after nlite, shaving quite a lot of stuff), would be great.
Thanks in advance
Nico

Is the telephony service started, try to start it manually.
Also what did you disable on the services, that shouldn't ever happen with all removed?
Attach, don't copy paste, your preset.

OK
Tested again with the telephony service:
1.- manual start: the same 2 options grayed out...
2.- auto start: the same 2 options grayed out...
I really donīt have a clue of what might be...
Thanks
Here I attach the presset that I ussed... (guess that the _u file is unrelevant here...)
PS: also tried to install ppp protocols manually, but they donīt appear at all; so after a little research decided to use RASPPPoE (alternative PPPoE protocol for Windows), and now I can config my connection, but not the standar winxp way...

I ment start it, not just change the status but i see you disable many services.
Either disable services page and start all over or enable by hand all services that are disabled...at least put them to Manual then START them (by right clicking and choosing start) then you see which one was that.
Also post here so that we know.

Hi!
Seems I finnally got it!
I tested a lot of network-related services that where disabled in my config, so after a while I got the two options back.
The required service is the "remote access connection manager" (that's my translation, based on the spanish name...)
After I started the service I got the full options back, and now I can set up my PPPoE connection manually!
Now I know wich service needs to be started to config manually internet conections.
Thanks to nuhi for the interest put on my post!!! (and for the great nLite!!!)
Problem solved!
Bye
