i've just aquired an mk1 (so to speak) SB Audigy (SB0090) for my rig :)
i'd like to find the latest VXD drivers i can for use in 98SE (as opposed to the WDM ones)
problem is i don't have an install CD to initally install the drivers and then use the updates creative supplys.

any suggestions/link ?

many thanks.

PS i know about the kX drivers and don't fancy them as this is mainly for gaming use.

Creative really sucks for driver support, I got a sb 0100 and I can't get the drivers to work, and the boot info when I start my computer says "unknown" in the IRQ list.

If the driver suggested above doesn't work let me know. I think I have the same soundcard. I backed up a zipped version of it for myself. Maybe I can upload it somewhere that you can download.

Sound Blaster Audigy + Audigy 2 Drivers

Creative Labs downloads [U.S. English]:

Audigy drivers + tools [web site in French, drivers in English]:

Audigy 2 drivers + tools [web site in French, drivers in English]:

Most of these drivers install ok on both Audigy and Audigy 2, but few are specific only to Audigy 2 [installer will prompt for unsupported sound card types].
All drivers below with English or multi-language support.
Most of these drivers require original drivers already installed from the CD-ROM provided with the sound card, or from the Creative Labs full web install/cd-rom ISO.
Most of these drivers also require older versions already installed:
step install = ver1 must be 1st installed in order to install ver2, etc....
Newest at the top, oldest at the bottom.

I guess thats my problem, no driver cd, no ver1 driver installed.

I got my card given to me from a friend without the original cd.

I can get drivers for all my other soundcards no problem

I just uploaded the zip file I use for my Audigy sound card I hope it's the same one you have. It's 19.75 MB. To use it Unzip and run CTZAPXX.exe it will let you choose VXD or WMD driver should work with 98SE/ME/2K and XP.

Don't be surprised if the install takes a few minutes. I often think my PC has locked up but it always works fine.

I'm in the exact same position of having acquired an Audigy off a friend. FYI you can click that link, all it contains is Audigy drivers :P Generally I think there'd be smackdown if they tried anything untoward like that, so.

Anyhow, this appears to be a mirror of the driver CD hosted by Compaq, so you may find that useful insead.
