These images are the result of 8 years in the retail computer industry - 8 years that are thankfully behind me. I used to work in the service department in a retail store of a very famous computer company (think cows...). During this time, I was able to observe (and preserve for posterity) the aftereffects of the - shall we say - "technology challenged" folks. My friends and relatives couldn't believe the stories I told - thus this collection of photos.

Thanks to everyone who has written about this site. I am thrilled to be able to lighten the day of so many people around the world!!

Many thanks to Stag Hosting for providing a new home for SCT!!! Be sure to drop by and visit by clicking the link at the bottom of the page!

Best Wishes,

Rod Shelley

no no pictures, just memories.

Took 4 raisins and a magnet out of a G3 All-in-one CD my first week on the job.
The multiple cd's brought back memories, 4 is the max i ever saw.
Took six floppy shutters out of the same drive once.
Worked on six laptops used as urinals.
Took three credit card sized cd's out of slot loading cd drives where the cd's themselves said do not put in slot loading drives.

and oh so many more.

Just when you thought you've seen everything! There are some people who shouldn't be allowed within 50 feet of a computer, and I think you have found almost all of them!

Thanx

To be fair though, a lot of that was probably young children who managed to wreck the computers.
I got called out once to a house where they complaind that the floppy drive wasnt taking disks anymore and when I took the drive apart there were two small wax crayons inside. Another one was where some kid had managed stuff half of an egg sandwich through the fan duct on the power supply at the back of the computer
