This will be the first rig that I am building. This isn't going to be used for gaming or any OC needed and I'd like to keep it as inexpensive as possible. If it wasn't for the inability to play high resolution vid files the Intel P3 that I'm using now is enough for my needs.
I haven't had a need to flash the bios since upgrading to XP. Is a floppy drive still necessary for this?
So far this is my choice of the components I've selected, if there are any incompatibilities would you point them out please. TIA

since you won't be playing games, that PC would work fine.
You wouldn't need a floppy drive because your motherboard will support booting directly from a CD, so pop in your XP or whatever OS you're installing and go to town
good luck

You are picking some outdated parts.
I would go for a 7300GT 256MB video card and an AMD AM2 processor with board. The 120GB drives have almost the same price as the 160 and 250GB drives so check that out, never could be bad to have some extra space these days.
Need help with picking those components then just tell us. Also if you need it cheap, you could go for a Sempron as well.
