I disabled recent documents in nLite and reinstalled XP. Is there any way to re-enable them?

For example, in Word when I click on File there are on recent documents there anymore (on my previous XP install there would be 10 recent docs).

Anyone know how I can get my recent docs back?

hi ryansebiz! i do not think this is an nLite issue ... when you clear recent documents in nLite, it only pertains to the ones listed in My Recent Documents when you click on the Start button ...

for your MS Word problem - you might have changes some settings (Tools -> Options -> General -> Recently used file list: X entries, where X is any number from 1-9)

Revert Disable and Remove Documents List from Start Menu:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoRecentDocsMenu"=-
"NoRecentDocsHistory"=-

Revert Clear most recently opened documents list on logoff:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"ClearRecentDocsOnExit"=-

if this was caused by nLite i belive the tweak you are looking to revert is the nLite privacy tweak 'Disable File MRU-List" which disables all MRU lists.

If you're right, then it could be...

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ComDlg32]
"NoFileMru"=-

WMP? :blink:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences]
"DisableMRU"=dword:00000000
