G'day,

I have a small problem (might be big :() I have typed up a book for a friend of the family and they have requested for the first say 9 pages (contains introduction, brief comments etc) to be in roman numerals but when the book starts (chapter 1, 2 etc) they want it to start at 1 and continue through to 600+. Is it possible to have two different sets of page automated number's with them starting counting again further on through the document? Thanks again, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Raizor,

Yes, it's perfectly possible to do what you want as long as you have section breaks where you want the page numbering to change. The page number format applies to sections, so you need to select different formats for the different sections, and select to restart numbering from 1 when you get to chapter 1. (And then have continuous numbering from there to the end of the document.)

Hope this is enough information to get you started.

Anne
