I've searched and read like 100 topics without finding a solution...feeling frustrated.

At first all the important system specs:

WinXP Home OEM SP2
nLite v1.2 RC
Installing nLited OS from another XP installation using command line "winnt32 /s:[path_to_I386_folder] /unattended0:[location_of_winnt.sif]"

My primary master disk has several partitions. Boot partition C as well as few other partitions have already XP's installed. What I'd like to do is to have XP installed on the partition without previous OS installations. Now that I try to make an unattended install, Windows setup always starts automatically installing on the C partition. I never get the dialog to choose the partition to install on.

All the partitions I need already exist and are formatted. I'd just like to have a chance to select the partition.

Here's my winnt.sif:

I also have a problem with custom theme. I've set things up exactly as instructed at http://unattended.ms...xp/view/web/76/ but somehow Windows setup complains about missing file "Custom.the" during copying files. It might be $OEM$ folder is ignored for some reason. I'll have to confirm that...

And finally, even though WaitForReboot is set to No I still get 15-second counter asking me to wait or reboot manually by clicking the corresponding button.

First of all you should be using some kind of boot manager or a disk manager software to mke the your installation partition of choice as active hiding all other partitions.

Is it the standsrd windows 15 seconds reboot message or is it some thing different? If your system insisits on rebooting do check your runonce files sequence. There may be a command forcing the reboot.

How come would I need to hide all partitions other than the one I'm planning to install XP on? Are you saying that as long as the installation is unattended I can't select my partition preference just like in 100% manual XP setup?

It's all standard and expected. Exactly the one that WaitForReboot should affect.

Ok, problem solved. It's just that you can't do a successful unattended install without either installing straight from a CD or using Virtual PC or similar. Case closed.
