Imran
hi,a new hotfix is available KB832353 it's an update for 828026. MS has the following to say about it:Killer BeeHi, Just wondering why no one has followed up on this post by Killer Bee. Q832353 replaces Q828026 (although the KB article doesn't specifically state that ). This can be verified by extracting the two hotfixes and comparing the files. They have exactly the same contents with Q832353 having newer versions Imran

Wraith
Just out of interest, would people want a tool that could automatically download the hotfixes, and, optionally, put them in a useable way, such as automatic storage in the right folders for XPCREATE, XML generation for XPlode etc.?I'm thinking of doing something like that tonight, while I don't have uni tomorrow.Anyone think it's going to be useful? mdes
Yes but don't forget to propose a language selection
Wraith
Haha.. I had already thought of that I will, however, need people to manage the database for their own language... up for it?At the moment, it'll just be adding URL, description, simple things like that.Of course, nothing's set up yet, so that may change

evilvoice
to my understanding...to use 832353, you must have 828026 installed already, or so it seems, it may have updated files, but they are supposed to update 828026, and not to be used by itself, or thats how I read the kb article...one way to test is to install just 832353 and goto windows update with wmp9 installed and see if it tells you you need any patches... I have in my update folder 20 hotfixes. 17 is q or kb things. The last 3 is thisjs56nda in folder com_microsoft.Jscript_ win2K_XP_56_6003vbs56nda in folder Q318089ALCXWDM in folder com_microsoft.KB833846_audio_driver_wxpwhat do I do with those 3?(aha...going back this tread I can see that this 3 has to be in also:-)2. in numerical order? How is that? q hotfixes first and kb last and all in nummeric orders with high numbers last?3. The differens between type 1 and 2 hotfix, is that the file type, and has nothing with KB og Q to do?4. Qchain exe must be extracted to update folder. But where in the update fplder? My qchain is first in the update folder with the WU folder.5. My hotfixes has all its own folder. Do I have to take hotfixes out of thoose folders and place them in the update folder?I'm danish and it's a danish version, if that meens anything :-)Sorry about my spelling and writing english....[Version] Signature="$Windows NT$"MajorVersion=5MinorVersion=1BuildNumber=2600[setupData]CatalogSubDir="\i386\Update"[ProductCatalogsToInstall][setupHotfixesToRun]Q832894.exe /Q:A /R:NQ832483.exe /Q:A /R:NQ819696.exe /Q /O /N /ZQ828026.exe /Q /O /N /Zjs56nda.exe /Q:A /R:NALCXWDM.exe /Q:A /R:Nvbs56nda.exe /Q:A /R:NKB837009.exe /Q:A /R:NKB817787.exe /Q:A /R:NKB824105.exe /Q /O /N /ZKB826939.exe /Q /O /N /ZKB835732.exe /Q /O /N /ZKB833330.exe /Q /O /N /ZKB824141.exe /Q /O /N /ZKB828035.exe /Q /O /N /ZKB837001.exe /Q /O /N /ZKB841720.exe /Q:A /R:NKB823182.exe /Q /O /N /ZKB825119.exe /Q /O /N /ZKB828741.exe /Q /O /N /Zqchain.exe
