No errors when running hfslip and no errors during install of windows.
But there is no IE 7 installed.

Someone ideas?

bytheway: I've also used HFSLIP 1.1.0 and then IE 7 is installed, but with HFSLIP 1.1.0 Mediaplayer 11 isn't installed.

I'm using a dutch version of windows xp pro and I'm using a dutch versions of IE 7.

Here's my hfslip log:

Please use the latest test release. It installs IE7 at first GUI logon.

Also, remove these hotfixes...

directx_oct2006_redist.exe
-- HFSLIP doesn't block this so all its content is copied into your new source.

KB927977-nld-x86.exe
KB927978-enu.exe
-- You already have the correct files with the msxml prefix so why these? Same problem as above.

WindowsMedia9-KB917734-x86-NLD.exe
wmcsetup.exe
wmfdist95.exe
-- These are hotfixes for WMP9/10.

WindowsXP-KB917344-x86-NLD.exe
WindowsXP-KB922760-x86-NLD.exe
-- These are hotfixes for IE6.

You can already prepare the above, but I'd wait till tomorrow when MS release their December round of hotfixes.

arjanv, the latest version requires you to restart your computer in order for IE7 to work because it is installed at GUIRunOnce (after the first logon).

I have just had the same problem as the original poster, IE7 was not installed.

I'm using v1.2.1 , could forgetting to remove WindowsXP-Windows2000-Script56-KB917344-x86-enu.exe be the cause? or have I missed something else?

That can't be the problem since IE7 is installed "normally" so it would overwrite any Script 5.6 files that need to be renewed.

Is the HFSLPGUI folder still present in the WINDOWS folder? If it is, your RunOnce is broken for one reason or another.

And please make sure you restart if you haven't done so already...

(Just wanted to emphasize this.)

I'll take a look at that on my next run TC, since I've already formatted!

The reboot was done even though it isn't necessary, since I installed at T13 using IE7SVCPACK=1 in my HFANSWER.INI.

PS
I wonder where my log file attachment went to in my last post?

Now I've give it another shot, this time changing nothing except for removing the script hotfix.

Still no IE7, although I recall it beginning to install at T13.

Obviously because I'm installing at T13 the HFSLPGUI folder is only used for my PowerShell install, it works fine and is deleted.

My HFSLIP folder however is still there as it has been in all my runs in the recent past!

I may try running IE7 at Logon, to see how that goes, but then it wont be slipstreamed and of no use to me on the CD.

IE7 isn't slipstreamed either way. You just choose whether you want it installed at T-13 or at GUI logon.

You do know when you *can* use the T-13 option, right?

i'm certain Yzöwl does :P ... just the same, to quote from http://hfslip.org/important.html:

Quote

To tell HFSLIP that you'd prefer Internet Explorer 7 to be installed at T-13, specify IE7SVCPACK=1 in HFANSWER.INI, the answer file that is to be placed in HFTOOLS.

Edited to correct broken link

TC, I'm supposed to be WiseOwl, are you supposed to be WiseGuy? Okay slipstreamed was the wrong word, try integrated. :}

However the fact still remains that the script isn't doing what it should, and truth be told it hasn't done for at least the last six months.

What I meant is that if I have to install it after the OS is fully loaded, then it may as well be done seperately later from another CD. This would leave more space on my CD for other things which can be `integrated` into the install.

Here we go again...:P

@Kiki, thanks for trying to help, but I don't think that's what Tomcat meant. I believe he was referring to the times when using T-13 (SVCPACK) works and when using it does not.

That's right. IE7 can only be installed at T-13 if your version of Windows doesn't rely on activation.

Okay, lets pretend like I know whether my Windows version requires activation or not and see if we can come up with something with a little more substance please...
