removing shimgvw.dll breaks the ability to use a jpg as background and still have transparent icon text backgrounds on the desktop

yep. I wish there was a way to get rid of pic & fax viewer without issues like this but there is not. Also does not allow user pics which I dont like that either.

The pic and fax viwer is a huge security issue. I have gotten some really nasty spywear from it.
