How does Civ3/4 stack up against the criteria in my first post?
You'd have today's military equipement but for the rest...it clearly doesn't match what you want. It's a really good solo game but barely distracting in multi.

When I "cheat" in Civ3/4, I advance in technology more rapidly than other civilizations so much more that they're still stuck in middle ages and I am already using modern armors and jet fighters (especially in Civ3).

What is one man's good game might be another man's worst game. Civ is the sole reason I am constanly upgrading my hardware and sometimes, I prefer playing Civ rather than eating or sleeping... :o :P

You didn't answer me, what about ARMA ?
Sorry 'bout that! http://www.armedassault.com/ does look very cool. But it also looks quite similar to BF2, which I already have and enjoy. Do you know how they compare to each other?

As soon as I get tired of BF2 I'll be trying out Civ 3 or 4 :)
