OK
I have a sysprepped (/generalize /oobe) image in .IMG format of Vista which I deploy and it works fine - apart from additional drivers.
I can mount this image as a virtual driver and can inject drivers into this using pkgmgr, and the logs show the drivers are imported successfully (see http://www.msfn.org/...showtopic=91269 )
According to the logs now, 9 drivers installed, oemX.inf files are correct and counted, and everything looks perfect.
Then image is unmounted and deployed.
No matter how many times I repeat this - when I deploy the image - only one of the drivers is detected (ALPS mouse/trackpad) - and the logs show the other drivers being detected via PnP - but the drivers are not found in the driverstore.
(We know drivers are correct and signed etc as if we point Device manager to the folders containing the drivers that were injected they work)
SOOOOOOOOOOO.....
Question is
- are there different "levels" of drivers?
- are some drivers needed to be installed at different times (e.g. sound/chipset - NOT talking about mass storage)
Thanks!
