When I slipstream and install Windows XP SP2, Windows Update complains about KB929120, KB928388 and KB920342. I use latest HFSLIP test version and this is my configuration:

Which test version are you using? 70208a?

I presume you haven't fully read the changelog for the latest release. KB929120 is blocked if it present in HF. A registry hack is included to satisfy Windows Update, but only if you include the latest cumulative time zone update, KB931836. You also probably mean KB928388 (as opposed to KB929388, which does not exist). This update was replaced yesterday by the newer KB931836.

I don't know what could be causing KB920342 to fail to install on your computer. Could it be from using a few ENU updates instead of ESN?

(1) WindowsXP-KB896344-v2-x86-ENU.exe
(2) WindowsXP-KB925876-x86-ENU.exe

Also, just as a sidenote, there is one IE7 update, KB928089, that you don't have in your HF folder. In addition, MSICabExtract.exe is obsolete.

Thanks for the quick answer. I use 70208a test version, that's correct. I didn't read the changelog, only checked your last posts and tested with VMWare. And yes, I mean 928388, typing mistake :) . I will download KB931836 and check it out.

I didn't see Windows Update complaining about the new IE7 update, but I will check it out too.

I don't know where comes the problem with KB920342, but until a few days (before KB931836 was released) was the only that failed to slipstream. I will continue to investigate the problem.

Thanks again, I will post my results.

EDIT

Ok, it still does not exist KB928089 in spanish. KB896344 does not exist in spanish but KB925876 does exist. I'm updating the config and see what happens.

KB896344 is only needed for English and Japanese versions of Windows. You don't need it.

You can safely use the English version of KB928089 because the files that it updates (ieapfltr.dll and mshtml.dll) are not localized. This update is optional, though.

I added KB925876 in spanish and KB931836. All went fine, except that Windows Update remains complaining about KB920342, I don't know why.

I don't see a problem with that hotfix. Have you tried downloading it again?

Yes, several times. I will continue looking for the answer. Could the roots update have anything to do with it?

Why do you slipstream this? rootsupd.exe

This update msxml6-KB927977-esn-x86.exe is better to slipstream into Net framework package

I'll post my log, you have some updates missing (for me, but not necessary)

Mmhhh I searched on Microsoft Website, but I don't find anything about it. I know there is an update on Windows Update, but I don't find any executable for updating.
The only one I have found with Google was a old file for IE5 or Win2k.

S3pHiroTh...

The download link for the version for WinXP/2K3 is in the first post of this thread.
The updated version for Win2K is in my 2K hotfix lists.

There's no need to rename it.

The problem with the update is fixed. It was corrupted, you know. Thanks for all :)

I have a tip:

If you have 7-Zip, right click on the hotfix file and select 7-Zip>Test archive.

If 7-Zip displays "X is not supported archive", then the hotfix probably is corrupted.

Glad you solved it, XibaD. Yep, files are often prone to corruption. It's best to check that first ;).
