I am trying to get a webcam to work on Win2K3 Server.
I am trying to setup a web Audio/Video chat environment (other than Live Messenger) where (at least for now) one of the parties is sitting at the 2K3 Server.
I have seen some posts from several years ago relating to webcam use. There's even an article "How to convert your Windows Server 2003...to a Workstation!".
So, I have enabled Windows Image Acquisition (WIA). It is currently running. I have tried to load webcam driver software from MS (LifeCam 1.1) and MicroInnovations (Basic Webcam/ArcSoft Software Suite).
LifeCam stops and says it will only work on XP. ArcSoft install just fails.
I have been able to load the drivers for the LifeCam directly and LiveMessenger sees the device.
However, other software for web chat fails on startup.
So, has anyone found a webcam and/or software to run a webcam on 2K3 Server with an install program that completes successfully?
Thanks
