I have created a standalone installation pack of 64bit codecs.
It can also be used in an unattended installation if that is your need.
These codecs will only be utilized by 64bit software
such as MediaCenter and MovieMaker in Vista Ultimate x64 distributions...

Hi, I am new to the forum and with a Vista Issue. I have downloaded the recent package of CODEC fixes here...but no luck as yet. My issue is using Motorola Phone Tools 4.0. It recently worked (finally) with Vista because of bugging Motorola daily for a link/fix so phone Tools 4.0 would be compatible with Vista. Now it is...but in trying to transfer/save anything to the phone, Vista says unsupported or inappropriate codec. I downloaded the 'Shark' fix...and unzipped the file, opened it....I shut PC down and still have the issue.
So I have a codec issue still....any ideas/solutions anyone?
Thanks!!!!!

I'm not exactly sure what a Shark fix is but i doubt it comes from me. All my released software is in exe format. My codec releases are for audio/video playback and I doubt your need this to transfer files to and from the phone.
It sounds to me like you need to get back onto the manufacturer for proper fix or insist on a refund so you can buy a phone that does work with Vista.

I am running a Dell Inspiron 1501
AMD Turion 64 x2 Mobile technology TL-50
And am running Vista Ultimate X64
I have tried other x64 downloads and they work fine including a different x64 codec pack.
Any help would be greatly appreciated !
Thanks

Try downloading it from a different site and dont use a download manager.
You must uninstall any previous x64 codec installations BEFORE
installing this comprehensive package.

Most of the media I am trying to access are from DVD’s which I trans coded to H.264 using Nero recode (Nero Digital AVC – HDTV profile).
I can see the thumbnails and times, but when I try to play them I get either a codec missing error or usually they just play green interlaced garbage.
I have installed Shark007's : (Vista Codec Package x64Components 1.2.5 ), which seemed to help, and I have tweaked the registry of course to recognize the file extentions. By the way, everything plays fine in VLC and even play fine in WMP 11, JUST not in Windows Media Center.
ANy help would be appreciated

The problem you are experiencing is caused by the 32bit codecs you are using. Many 32/64 codecs share registry space.
I suggest uninstalling ALL 32bit codecs and use the Vista Codec Package. Tried, tested, and true.
Also, either reinstall the x64 package after installing the 32bit package, or reboot your system.
