skylights
Can I ask on ask on behalf of all the noobs out there.Who needs this update?Does a casual user benefit from it?that's a good question .. does anyone know the answer? i don't ...This noob wants to know, too. What does this update do? And does it add any processes? If it does, I hope it has some benefit for the average, everyday user. RAM is a limited and precious resource for many of us. Prozactive
New update Jet 4.0 Q925051.EXEI'm confused. Isn't Q950749 the latest update? (according to maximus-decim in post #24 earlier and MDGx in post #1 of this thread.) Edited November 16, 2009 by Prozactive
Fredledingue
Yes it is.However where I'm confused is when MD mention both updates in his pack.KB925051 - Update for Jet 4.0sp8 KB924191 - Update for MSXML 3.0sp7 KB954430 - Update for MSXML 4.0sp2 KB950749 - Update for Jet 4.0sp811-13-2009Q950749:http://www.mdgx.com/add.htm#JETReplaced obsolete Jet 4.0 Q925051.EXE hotfix:* Unofficial Jet 4.0 SP8 Security Vulnerability Fix for Windows 98/98 SP1/98 SE/ME:http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...n/ms08-028.mspxDirect download [2.6 MB]:http://www.mdgx.com/files/Q950749.EXE Edited November 16, 2009 by Fredledingue
Prozactive
Thanks Fredledingue. That's the specific reference by MDGx I was referring to. So Q950749 is the latest update then?I always find version control the most confusing, frustrating, and aggravating aspect of MDGx's and other updates. I'm very grateful for all their hard work but it seems like there ought to be a better way to track and maintain control of all the latest Microsoft security updates and hotfixes that they implement.EDIT: Okay, I just read your edited post. Thank you! Yes that always confuses me too - when both the latest and outdated update(s) are listed. Adding to that confusion is the overlap between MDGx's individual component updates vs. the cumulative updates provided by maximus-decim and others. Again, there must be a better way to keep track of all of these versions. Edited November 16, 2009 by Prozactive
