I am trying MeidaMonkey for my iPod music on Vista. When I "eject" iPod though MeidaMonkey it is removed but I get the flashing "Do Not disconnect" message on my Ipod. I am not running iTunes on Vista and I don't see any Icon in the System Tray that lets me "Safely Remove" the Ipod. What do I need to do so I can disconnect my iPod?

Thanks

Hiya,

Yeah mine does that too, sometimes the do not disconnect stays there for a few mins sometimes only a few seconds.

I think it's just one of those unexplained things that happen.

Update your chipset drivers and update your iPod's firmware. Should help.

Please install the Windows Vista KB936824 Update from this site, which should permanently resolve the iPod Ejection problem:
http://support.micro...kb/936824/en-us

it was basically a bug in the Vista OS which it couldn't handle iPods properly, especially when attempting to disconnect them from Vista

actually, jcarle, updating the mobo chipset drivers and iPod software isn't enough to fix the problem under Vista. The KB936824 update is still needed to ensure Vista handles iPods correctly when disconnecting them from a Vista machine.

Apple has posted the article about Ejecting iPods under Windows Vista Corrupting iPods here:
